Evidence Packs

Summary

Evidence Packs let you download a document that captures a whole conversation — the response, the supporting material behind it, and a record of what happened. They’re designed to make it easier to review how an answer was formed and keep a clear record of what was generated.

Use Case

Scenario

A council receives a freedom of information request and needs to show how an AI-assisted response was put together before it’s released. An FE college is asked to detail how its Quality Improvement Plan was written and wants a record of the conversation, the supporting material, and the resulting output. In both cases, the Evidence Pack provides a downloadable record that supports review, traceability and internal assurance.

Benefits

  • Makes it easier to inspect the material behind a whole conversation
  • Improves traceability of AI-assisted responses
  • Supports internal checking before information is shared externally
  • Provides a downloadable record for audit, review, or governance purposes

Walkthrough

Open the conversation

  • Open the conversation you want to review.
  • Either from one you are working on or via the History tab to go to an old conversation.

Create the evidence pack

  • Go to the top menu in the Platform.
  • Select Tools.
  • Choose Evidence pack.
  • The document downloads automatically.

Review what the Evidence Pack shows

  • Open the downloaded document.
  • Interaction record — the evidence ID, the date and time, the assistant used, the question you asked, and what was searched for as a result.
  • Response as generated — the response text exactly as it appeared in the conversation.
  • Source grounding — how many passages were found, how many were actually used in the answer, and which documents were consulted.
  • Generation configuration — the technical settings used to produce the response.
  • Disposition record — a log of what happened during the conversation.
  • Integrity and verification — a reference you can use to confirm the document hasn’t been altered, plus storage details and a machine-readable version for use in other systems.

Notes

  • Evidence Packs are generated for a whole conversation, not a single isolated message.
  • The pack downloads as a document from the conversation interface.
  • The feature supports review and traceability, but it doesn’t replace your own judgement.
  • If a conversation depends on information that has changed since the pack was generated, it may not reflect the current position.
