Summary
Deep Analysis Mode changes how thoroughly KnowledgeFlow searches your indexed library before it answers. By default, a question is matched against your indexed library once, and the answer is built from the closest matches found. With Deep Analysis Mode turned on, KnowledgeFlow instead works through your entire indexed library in stages, rather than stopping at the first set of matches, and ranks everything it finds before constructing the answer. It can be turned on or off in Settings → Chat Settings.
Use Case
Scenario
A user asks for a definition, a single policy detail, or a specific document reference. The standard mode is usually enough, since the answer can come from one relevant match without needing to check everything else. When the question changes to a comparison, a root-cause analysis, or a recommendation drawn from several documents, Deep Analysis Mode becomes the better fit — it works through the whole indexed library rather than stopping at the closest matches.
Benefits
- Checks your entire indexed library rather than stopping at the closest matches
- Better suited to comparisons, root-cause analysis, and recommendations drawn from several documents
- Ranks everything it finds before building the answer, rather than relying on the first matches alone
Walkthrough
Open the feature settings
- Go to Settings → Chat Settings.
- Check that Deep Analysis Mode is turned on.
Ask a question
- Enter a question that needs more than a simple lookup — a comparison, a root-cause analysis, or a recommendation across several documents.
- For a definition, a single policy detail, or one document reference, the standard mode is usually enough and Deep Analysis Mode isn’t needed.
Review the response
- Read the answer and check whether it covers the different parts of your question.
- Look for citations and evidence where they are provided.
- If the answer seems incomplete, ask a narrower follow-up or rephrase the question to make the missing part explicit.
Test and compare behaviour
- Turn Deep Analysis Mode off and ask the same question to compare the baseline behaviour.
- Turn it back on and repeat the test.
- Use a comparison or multi-document question if you want to see the full process in action.
Notes
- Checking your entire indexed library takes more work than matching against the closest results, so responses can take longer with Deep Analysis Mode turned on.
