Assistant quick start guides
Every KnowledgeFlow assistant has its own quick start guide. Each one takes you from opening the assistant for the first time to getting something genuinely useful out of it, usually inside ten minutes.
These are working guides, not manuals. They cover the path most people need on day one and leave the edge cases to the detailed documentation. Pick the guide for the assistant you have been given access to and start there.
What every guide contains
The guides follow the same structure, so once you have read one you know where to look in the rest:
- Before you start — what to have ready. Worth reading properly; most disappointing first sessions trace back to a missing document.
- How it works — the two or three behaviours that surprise new users. Assistants pause for confirmation, show their working, and refuse to invent things. All of that is deliberate, and knowing it up front saves a lot of second-guessing.
- Your first few minutes — the quickest route to one useful result, with a check so you know it worked.
- The workflows — what each button does and when to reach for it.
- A full walkthrough — the main journey end to end.
- Getting better results — the habits that make the biggest difference.
- What it will not do — the honest limits, so you know where your judgement is still required.
- Common questions — the things people ask in the first week.
A note on how these assistants work
Each assistant is configured for your organisation and draws on your own documents — your past work, your records, your evidence. Two organisations using the same assistant will get different answers, because they have different material behind them. That is the point.
It also means the quality of what you get back depends partly on what has been indexed. If an assistant misses something you know your organisation has done, tell us which document it should have found. That is the fastest way to improve it.
Need more than a quick start?
Detailed documentation for each assistant sits alongside its quick start guide. If you are evaluating a new assistant with your team, ask us for the testing handbook — it sets out five structured tests that tell you whether the assistant is working the way it should for your organisation.
