Problem
In common with many charities, one of The King’s Fund’s important revenue streams involves the submission of bids or proposals to Government or other bodies in response to contestable funding processes. The in-house bid team has very limited resource and is supplemented by a range of external associate consultants which was leading to inconsistencies in the way bids were constructed and presented. The Fund needed to increase its win rate and produce more, and more consistent, bids with the same levels of resource without compromising quality. They also wanted to avoid using public AI tools which would both compromise its IP and lead to bids looking similar to its competitors.
Solution
We set up a King’s Fund “Bid Writer” trained solely on their its own internal data sets, including base information about the Fund and a database of past successful proposals and case studies.
Outcome
The tool is live and is being used by around a dozen internal and external staff and associates involved in bidding. Feedback has been exceptionally positive and has already resulted in both time savings and greater bid success.
