What KnowledgeFlow™ Does on AWS
KnowledgeFlow™ is delivered as a SaaS platform or as a partner-hosted deployment and is fully built on AWS managed services. AWS provides the scalability, security, and resilience required to support sensitive knowledge workloads across multiple organisations.
At a high level, KnowledgeFlow™:
- Securely ingests and processes organisational documents
- Embeds and indexes content for retrieval using managed AWS AI services
- Uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to ensure responses are grounded in customer-owned data
- Delivers a responsive web-based user experience
Core AWS Services Used
KnowledgeFlow™ is sophisticated, enterprise-grade AI chat platform built in AWS. It has multi-persona support, advanced document processing, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities.
In simple terms, we work with you to identify the key tasks and recurring problems in your business where AI has the potential to transform outcomes.
We then build our KnowledgeFlow™ platform into your workflow, giving your teams access to indispensable assistants that help them do better work, more easily.
Here are some of the key features of KnowledgeFlow™.
Amazon Bedrock
Managed access to foundation models via APIs
Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases
Managed RAG capabilities including document parsing and embeddings
Amazon OpenSearch Serverless
Vector and full-text search powering accurate information retrieval
AWS Lambda + Amazon API Gateway
Serverless backend APIs (FastAPI via Lambda Web Adapter)
Amazon DynamoDB
NoSQL storage for conversation history and metadata
Amazon EventBridge Pipes
Event-driven ingestion triggers from DynamoDB streams
AWS Step Functions
Orchestration of document ingestion and embedding workflows
Amazon S3 + Amazon CloudFront
Secure frontend hosting and global content delivery
Amazon Cognito
User authentication and identity management
AWS WAF
IP address restriction and web application protection
Amazon Athena
Querying and analysing data stored in Amazon S3
Architecture Overview
KnowledgeFlow™ follows a modern, serverless, event-driven architecture on AWS:
- Users authenticate via Amazon Cognito and access the KnowledgeFlow web application delivered through Amazon CloudFront and Amazon S3.
- User queries are sent to a secure API built using Amazon API Gateway and AWS Lambda.
- Conversation context is stored in Amazon DynamoDB.
- KnowledgeFlow retrieves relevant documents from Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases, backed by Amazon OpenSearch Serverless.
- Amazon Bedrock foundation models generate responses grounded in retrieved content.
- New or updated documents trigger ingestion workflows via DynamoDB Streams, Amazon EventBridge Pipes, and AWS Step Functions.
This architecture enables:
- Elastic scaling without infrastructure management
- Fine-grained security controls
- Clear separation of data ingestion, retrieval, and inference
Key Use Cases
Public Sector Knowledge ‘Buddies’
Enable staff in local authorities and housing associations to quickly find policy, procedural, and legislative information without searching across multiple systems.
Education & Research Support
Support further and higher education institutions by providing instant access to internal guidance, research documentation, and operational knowledge.
Organisational Knowledge Retention
Capture and reuse institutional knowledge, reducing dependency on individuals and improving onboarding and continuity.
Security, Governance, and Trust
KnowledgeFlow™ is designed with regulated and public-sector environments in mind:
- Customer data is processed and stored within AWS-managed services
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation ensures responses are grounded in approved documents
- Authentication and access control are enforced via Amazon Cognito
- Network and application-level protections are implemented using AWS WAF
These controls help organisations adopt generative AI responsibly while maintaining oversight and compliance.
Customer Evidence
KnowledgeFlow™ is currently being evaluated and adopted by organisations across the public and regulated sectors. Early deployments focus on internal knowledge access, policy discovery, and AI-assisted research.
